Vessel Operator

About the role

The Vessel Operator will support the Marine Operations Team, ensuring safe and compliant vessel activities across cable installation, subsea and project work. Working closely with agents, crew, and external partners, the role involves coordinating vessel movements, preparing ships for deployments, and assisting during audits and dry‑dock periods.

Key responsibilities

• Select and nominate agents, verify PDAs and final disbursement accounts, and communicate corrections to all parties.
• Coordinate vessel departures, arrivals, and on‑board inspections, attending onboard when required.
• Monitor compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC standards and project‑specific requirements, proposing solutions to identified gaps.
• Support crew rotation, training, certification, and maintain departmental files and budgets.
• Assist in preparation for DP annual audits, FMEA, class surveys, and dry‑dock inspections.
• Liaise with supplies, commercial, engineering, and technical management to ensure timely procurement and quality feedback.

Required profile

• BSc in Shipping or equivalent, or a Master’s diploma in vessel operations.
• Minimum five years of experience in marine operations, vessel compliance, or related maritime roles.
• Strong understanding of ISM, ISPS, and MLC regulations.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage documentation.
