Telemedicine Doctor (GP / Internal Medicine Specialist)

About the role

Telemed+ by Unimed is looking for a qualified General Practitioner or Internal Medicine Specialist to join its 24/7 remote telemedicine service for vessels worldwide. The physician will work from home, providing medical consultations and emergency guidance during ten 24‑hour shifts each month, alongside a registered nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 24/7 remote medical consultations to crew members aboard ships, assessing and managing acute and non‑acute conditions via telemedicine.
• Provide emergency medical guidance during incidents and support captains and onboard medical staff.
• Escalate cases that require evacuation or specialist input, following company SOPs.
• Conduct pre‑employment medical examinations and contribute to preventive health projects such as malaria, MPOX, and heat‑stress mitigation.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records, upload documentation to the company platform, and ensure GDPR compliance.
• Collaborate closely with the shift‑assigned registered nurse and communicate effectively with vessels and internal teams.

Required profile

• Medical degree with a valid Greek medical licence.
• Board‑certified General Practitioner or Internal Medicine Specialist.
• Proven ability to make evidence‑based clinical decisions in a remote setting.
• Willingness to work ten 24‑hour shifts per month on a shift‑based schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
