Software Engineer – Tier2 (Hybrid, Athens)

About the role

Join tgndata’s data platform team and help build the high‑performance crawlers that scan millions of webpages daily. You will work on a SaaS solution that powers pricing intelligence for leading retail and e‑commerce brands across more than 30 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain smart web crawlers using modern PHP.
• Utilise headless browsers such as Puppeteer or Playwright to interact with dynamic sites.
• Write and optimise parsers that extract real‑time pricing, stock and product information.
• Handle anti‑bot measures, including rotating proxies and CAPTCHAs.
• Monitor crawler health, troubleshoot breaks and ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Customer Success to deliver stable, high‑scale data pipelines.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers and contribute to best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Professional experience in backend development with PHP (v7 or v8).
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, SQL databases and Git workflows.
• Collaborative mindset and clear communication abilities.
