Shift Engineer

About the role

The Shift Engineer ensures the seamless operation, maintenance, and safety of all technical systems across Luura’s luxury hotel during assigned shifts. This role supports guest facilities, staff accommodations, spa areas, and food & beverage outlets, creating a comfortable and safe environment for both guests and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations during the shift, ensuring HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool/spa, elevator, generator and lighting systems are fully functional.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of technical equipment throughout the hotel, spa, kitchen and staff areas.
• Lead and supervise the engineering team, including junior engineers, technicians and external contractors, delegating tasks and ensuring coverage.
• Coordinate repair and maintenance work, monitoring quality, safety and timely completion.
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as electrical failures, water leaks, HVAC issues or safety hazards, minimizing impact on guests.
• Ensure compliance with Greek safety regulations, EU directives and environmental standards.
• Support pre‑opening activities and seasonal re‑openings by verifying full functionality of all systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections and equipment logs.
• Collaborate with F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office, Spa and HR to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Technical engineering qualification or equivalent experience in hospitality facilities.
• Proven experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams in a hotel or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of Greek safety regulations and EU environmental standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
