Senior System Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join a leading private healthcare group in Athens. The role involves managing critical IT infrastructure that supports hospital information systems and ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux).
• Monitor uptime of HIS, PACS, RIS, and LIS systems.
• Implement security policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Administer Active Directory, Exchange/Microsoft 365, and Group Policies.
• Coordinate with external vendors and third‑party service providers.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support to staff.
• Maintain comprehensive system and process documentation.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator.
• Proven ability to work in mission‑critical environments and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
• Microsoft 365, Azure AD.
• Virtualization (VMware and/or Hyper‑V).
• Backup and replication solutions (Veeam, Backup Exec or equivalent).
• Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, VMware VCP) – considered an asset.
