Senior Project Manager – IT Projects (Public Sector)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale ICT projects for public sector organisations. You will be the main point of contact, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget while coordinating diverse stakeholder groups.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor IT projects for government clients, managing scope, schedule and budget.
• Lead, mentor and coordinate cross‑functional project teams to achieve high performance.
• Serve as the primary communication hub for internal teams, contractors and public officials.
• Develop detailed project plans, track milestones, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, resolve conflicts and ensure transparent reporting.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for development teams.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of proven experience managing IT projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Trustworthy and discreet, capable of operating in politically sensitive environments.

Required skills

• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile/Scrum).
• Experience with public procurement procedures and government tender processes.
• Knowledge of EU‑funded project frameworks (e.g., ESIF, RRF, Digital Europe Programme).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and modern enterprise IT architectures.
