Senior Product Manager – XDR Security Solutions
Elastic
Job description
About the role
Elastic Security is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help build and grow Elastic XDR. The role places you close to both attackers and defenders, enabling you to shape detection‑and‑response products that reduce response time.
Key responsibilities
- Own a core area of the XDR roadmap end‑to‑end, driving detection, correlation, incident building, and response capabilities across endpoint, cloud, identity, and network.
- Expand and maintain telemetry and integrations, combining first‑party Elastic data with third‑party EDR, cloud, identity, and network sources.
- Contribute to exposure and vulnerability management, prioritizing based on exploitability and reachability rather than raw CVSS, and define remediation workflows.
- Write clear requirements that engineering can act on without follow‑up clarification and translate customer input and threat research into product features.
- Represent the product in conversations with senior security stakeholders and feed insights back into the roadmap.
- Ensure capabilities operate across Elastic’s deployment models—from cloud to on‑premises to air‑gapped environments.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Create roadmap trackers and decision memos that give stakeholders visibility without requiring meetings.
Required profile
- At least 5 years in security‑related technical product management, competitive analysis, or technical marketing, with a minimum of 3 years in product development or a technical field, and a proven record of owning product areas from requirements through shipped outcomes.
- Hands‑on knowledge of XDR, EDR, SIEM, incident response, or forensic work, either as a product manager or as a practitioner such as a SOC analyst, detection engineer, or incident responder.
- Experience building or owning products that rely on heterogeneous third‑party data and integrations, understanding the breadth of telemetry required for XDR.
- Solid understanding of analytics techniques behind detection and prioritization and awareness of the current cyber‑threat landscape; familiarity with AI security is a plus.
- Ability to earn engineering respect through high‑quality requirements and to assess feasibility and scope of architecture.
- Strong customer‑facing confidence, able to represent the product to senior security stakeholders and translate feedback into roadmap decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to distill complex detection engineering concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success in a remote‑first environment.
- BS or MS in engineering, computer science, or information security.

- XDR
- EDR

- Incident response
- Threat detection engineering
