Principal Engineer

About the role

Asteri is building an AI‑native work intelligence and orchestration platform for large enterprises. As a Principal Engineer you will lead the technical vision and architecture of core product capabilities, shaping how AI agents and human workflows interact at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable full‑stack systems aligned with long‑term business goals.
• Define backend and frontend services with clean APIs, high availability, observability, security, compliance and performance.
• Architect complex workflow and orchestration logic for AI‑human coordination and auditability.
• Oversee integration of enterprise‑scale systems and data sources, ensuring robust end‑to‑end workflows, policies, resiliency and SLAs.
• Set production excellence standards through advanced testing, CI/CD evolution and proactive monitoring.
• Partner with product, AI and design leaders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead technical reviews and elevate engineering culture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of architecting large‑scale production applications.
• Strong technical leadership experience, including mentoring and driving architectural decisions.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and own strategic technical initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Backend development: Python, Node.js, TypeScript.
• Frontend development: React with TypeScript.
• API design and relational database modeling: PostgreSQL.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code: Terraform.
