PHP Developer – Backend Engineer

About the role

Travelfusion is expanding its development team in Thessaloniki and is looking for an experienced PHP Developer. You will help design, build and maintain high‑performance backend services that power our global flight‑content platform.

Key responsibilities

• Support, maintain and enhance existing PHP‑based systems across the platform.
• Apply best‑practice development techniques to deliver clean, fast and scalable code.
• Provide accurate technical estimates and deliver code components and frameworks on schedule.
• Report progress, risks and issues to the Development Lead.
• Assist with testing activities and contribute to automated test case creation.

Required profile

• Proven ability to write clean, readable and scalable code.
• Strong knowledge of core web technologies: PHP, XML, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Practical experience with jQuery or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Symfony or another MVC‑based framework.
• Basic familiarity with Linux environments, preferably Ubuntu.
• Effective independent and collaborative working style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
