Avionics & Software Integration Specialist

About the role

Stark is seeking a hands‑on Avionics & Software Integration Specialist to manage firmware flashing, software setup and subsystem integration for its unmanned aerial vehicles. The role involves using Linux (Ubuntu) tools to calibrate and test each aircraft before its first flight, ensuring full compliance with safety and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Flash and configure all UAV subsystems (flight controller, ESCs, radios, companion computer) and verify bus communications such as Serial, CAN/DroneCAN and I2C.
• Perform full sensor calibrations, flight‑mode setup, ESC/motor tests, safety failsafes and pre‑flight checkouts.
• Diagnose integration issues using Linux CLI and system logs, isolating faults between software, parameters or hardware/wiring.
• Track unit status through the assembly pipeline and promptly escalate technical blockers.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with PX4 (or ArduPilot) and QGroundControl, including parameter tuning, firmware flashing and sensor calibration.
• Daily comfort with Linux (Ubuntu) command‑line tools, configuration files and system logs.
• Working knowledge of UAV hardware and communication protocols such as flight controllers, ESCs, GPS, telemetry, CAN/DroneCAN, Serial and I2C.
• Basic electronics skills – soldering, crimping, multimeter usage – and strict adherence to LiPo and power‑safety procedures.
