Mid-level Software Engineer (PHP/Java)

About the role

Ferryscanner is looking for a curious and collaborative mid‑level Software Engineer to help shape the future of its online ferry booking platform. You will work in a cross‑functional Scrum team, delivering scalable, reliable, and customer‑centric features.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web application features that enhance the customer experience.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code using modern PHP or Java frameworks.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and teammates to deliver incremental business value.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to boost productivity and code quality.
• Contribute ideas to improve products, processes, and team effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, preferably with PHP or Java.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
