Mechanical General Foreman (FIFO)

About the role

G Mining Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical General Foreman to join the Olympias brownfield project in Greece. The position operates on a FIFO (Fly‑in‑Fly‑out) basis and is responsible for delivering the mechanical scope of a mineral process plant.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a work execution schedule to meet or exceed plant construction delivery dates.
• Lead a team of supervisor‑trainers, aligning their activities with the construction of flotation cells, agitators, thickeners, vert‑mills, filter presses, tanks and related equipment.
• Organise meetings, communicate with stakeholders, visit installations and verify compliance with construction and safety objectives.
• Identify construction, access, tolerance and assembly‑sequence issues for key equipment such as vert‑mills, thickeners and filter presses.
• Supervise safe execution of heavy lifts and complex assemblies in accordance with HSE procedures and applicable standards.
• Oversee reception, inspection and installation of mechanical equipment and components.
• Prepare progress reports and coordinate onsite activities to avoid clashes between engineering disciplines.
• Promote a culture of integrity, ethics, compliance and risk‑based problem solving.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction, preferably in mineral process plant projects.
• Proficiency in English; French is an asset.
• Experience in the mining or heavy‑mineral industry is a plus.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
