Legal Counsel – Head of Legal Department

About the role

European Dynamics (ED) is seeking an experienced senior legal professional to establish and lead its Legal Department in Marousi, Athens. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of legal affairs across the group’s multi‑country IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor and manage a team of lawyers and support staff, defining performance goals and professional development plans.
• Design and continuously improve department structures, workflows, policies and internal procedures to match the fast‑paced, international environment.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including employment, subcontracting, client, partnership, confidentiality, NDA, DPA and software licensing agreements.
• Prepare Board of Directors and General Assembly minutes, legal letters, certifications and other official documents.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to operational teams, conduct complex legal research and deliver clear guidance.
• Manage litigation, oversee external counsel in various jurisdictions, and support M&A, due‑diligence and corporate transactions.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, conduct risk assessments and ensure GDPR compliance.
• Ensure adherence to EU public procurement rules for institutional and governmental clients and report legal risk to the CEO and executive management.

Required profile

• University law degree and active membership in the Greek Bar Association.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a legal counsel, with proven experience leading a legal team in an IT or fast‑moving international business.
• Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken; additional German or French is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities and a proactive approach to risk management.
