Lead Electrical Engineer - Site Supervision Team

About the role

AFRY is seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join its Owner's Engineer site supervision team for a power plant project. The role is central to ensuring the successful execution of the electrical works so that the facility is delivered safely, in compliance with design specifications and international and local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical engineering designs, plans, method statements, ITPs, materials and construction procedures against project requirements and codes, and prepare document review sheets for each site discipline.
• Verify that construction follows approved designs, witness site tests, review Requests for Inspection and Material Receival Reports, and conduct regular site inspections.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, meeting minutes and records of outstanding points, and inform the project management team weekly of actual versus planned progress.
• Oversee quality control and assurance for electrical construction and commissioning, prepare independent Non-Conformance Reports and study those issued by the EPC contractor.
• Identify and resolve construction and commissioning issues, delays and risks, and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Assist in evaluating site progress, including progress payments, change orders and claims, and certify EPC contractor invoices for site mechanical works.
• Review the preliminary and final commissioning and O&M manuals, site updates and as-built documents, and oversee the electrical aspects of project closeout and handover to the owner.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as lead electrical engineer on large-scale construction projects, preferably in the energy or power industry.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international design codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and leadership abilities.
