Junior Back-End Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Back-End Engineer to join our engineering team and grow into a strong contributor to robust, scalable backend systems. You will work closely with senior engineers who will mentor you while you help build services and APIs that power our applications.

Key responsibilities

• Help develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and system components, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code, incorporating feedback from code reviews.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas as you become familiar with our architecture.
• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver high‑quality features.
• Support the team in delivering on goals and improving existing systems, learning from experienced colleagues.
• Help monitor performance and reliability of solutions and flag improvement opportunities.
• Receive regular mentorship, pair programming, and code review support from senior engineers.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in software engineering through internships, academic projects, bootcamps, or entry‑level roles.
• Python experience from internships, bootcamps, or personal projects.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and backend service structure.
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Interest in learning cloud environments (AWS a plus).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow as a backend engineer.
