Head of Routing

About the role

The Head of Routing will lead the daily Routing and Transport Coordination teams, ensuring effective planning and execution of large‑scale distribution activities across Attica and mainland Greece. This senior position combines team leadership, strategic direction, service‑level performance, and continuous operational improvement through modern technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, organise, develop and evaluate the Routing Team and Transport Coordinators.
• Review, oversee and approve the daily large‑scale routing plan for Attica and nationwide deliveries.
• Ensure consistent achievement of operational SLAs and service‑quality standards.
• Monitor KPIs such as cost per delivery, vehicle capacity utilisation and on‑time delivery performance.
• Identify and implement new routing strategies, process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Take final decisions on complex operational issues, escalations and exceptional transport requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Logistics Management team and provide regular reporting on fleet and department performance.
• Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within routing operations, ideally in a large logistics, 3PL or B2B distribution environment.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing routing, transport coordination or fleet‑related teams.
• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field; postgraduate degree considered an asset.
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to manage priorities and perform effectively in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of advanced TMS/routing software.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with WMS platforms.
• Understanding of telematics/GPS systems.
