Head of Facilities Maintenance and Construction

About the role

Demo S.A. is looking for a Head of Facilities Maintenance and Construction to lead building infrastructure projects, facility upgrades, renovations and maintenance across its manufacturing sites. The role suits engineering professionals with experience in construction projects, industrial developments, technical site management or large-scale building operations, and calls for a hands-on technical leader who can supervise contractors and partners while keeping projects safe, compliant and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead facilities and building maintenance, coordinating on-site work, technical execution and day-to-day supervision.
• Develop and run preventive, corrective, predictive and improvement maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Plan, prioritize and follow up maintenance operations, technical interventions, civil works and improvement projects.
• Supervise renovation, expansion, construction and upgrade works against technical specs, timelines, budget, quality and safety standards.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets and oversee contractor and service provider performance, quality, cost and safety.
• Inspect sites, identify issues, propose solutions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare, review and validate technical reports, specifications, scopes of work and documentation.
• Coordinate procurement requests, evaluate technical offers and support vendor selection with the Procurement Department.
• Monitor schedules, escalate delays or risks and keep works running with minimal disruption.
• Act as main contact for internal departments on maintenance needs and technical requests, and ensure compliance with HSE procedures, regulations and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and manage, guide and develop the maintenance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical or Civil.
• 7+ years of experience in facilities management, construction, technical project management, industrial infrastructure or maintenance.
• Proven hands-on site supervision experience, including contractors, progress monitoring, technical specifications, timelines and HSE requirements.
• Very good command of English.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, site-oriented approach.

Required skills

• Ability to read and review technical drawings, layouts and specifications; AutoCAD is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of maintenance practices, technical documentation and facility improvement processes.
• Very good MS Office skills; maintenance systems or technical reporting tools are an asset.
