Electrical Construction Manager - Data Centre

About the role

Designer Group is an international MEP contractor delivering turnkey mechanical and electrical solutions for mission-critical facilities, including data centres. Reporting to the Project/Contracts Manager, the Electrical Construction Manager leads the delivery of electrical packages on large-scale data centre projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical installation activities across data centre projects.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
• Monitor project progress, productivity and programme milestones, and provide regular progress updates.
• Review designs, drawings and specifications to ensure buildability and compliance with client requirements.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, labour requirements and site resources.
• Chair and attend project, subcontractor and coordination meetings, and interface with clients, consultants and other trades.
• Manage quality inspections, documentation and project closeout, and oversee testing, commissioning, energisation and handover of electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures through site audits, toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Mentor site personnel and support the development of apprentices and junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing electrical installations on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Strong planning, organisational and people management skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, UPS and generators.
• Experience coordinating testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, BIM models and Navisworks outputs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; BIM and Navisworks experience is advantageous.
