Head Housekeeper - Private Estate, Athens

About the role

A private estate in Athens is looking for an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper who will start as an equal member of the household team and become Head Housekeeper after about 3-6 months. The role involves leading the housekeeping team alongside the House Manager, improving systems and standards while staying very hands-on. The Principal is in Greece for about 6-7 months of the year.

Key responsibilities

• Hands-on housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, linen and wardrobe care
• Preparing the residence for the Principals and guests, and deep cleaning and detailed property preparation when the family are away
• Light cooking and table service
• Assessing and improving housekeeping processes and systems, and managing the team including rotas and schedules
• Training and supporting staff and maintaining high standards
• Coordinating with maintenance, gardening and other household services
• Monitoring the condition and presentation of the property, furnishings and finishes
• Supporting arrivals, departures, packing and unpacking, and assisting with shopping, errands and provisioning
• Day-to-day care of the family dog and very occasional light PA support
• Very occasional travel to the family's London residence

Required profile

• Experienced, hands-on Housekeeper with the confidence to progress to Head Housekeeper
• Highly organised, discreet, proactive and willing to get stuck in
• Background as a Steward/Stewardess is advantageous
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to receive the advertised rate

What we offer

• Permanent full-time position with a salary of €2,500 net per month
• Start date as soon as possible, by mutual agreement
