About the role
We are expanding our editorial output and need an Editorial Assistant to research, report and write about the hospitality industry and its marketing. This entry‑level position is ideal for a recent journalism graduate and offers close collaboration with senior strategists.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily hospitality, travel and marketing news to identify newsworthy developments and campaigns.
- Research and compile industry reports using trade publications, market studies and primary sources.
- Draft articles, case studies, interviews and short editorial pieces meeting brief and deadline requirements.
- Prepare interview briefs, background notes and question sets for conversations with hoteliers and industry figures.
- Fact‑check and source‑check editorial work and support colleagues with their content.
- Maintain the editorial calendar, tracking commissions, deadlines and publication dates.
- Pitch original story ideas during editorial meetings.
Required profile
- A degree in journalism, communications, media or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong research skills with a disciplined approach to verification.
- Precision with language, structure and detail.
- Genuine interest in hotels, travel, design and the commercial side of hospitality.
- Ability to work to deadline.
