DPA / HSSE Manager for Bulk Carrier Fleet

About the role

E. Nomikos Corp., a long‑established shipping company, is looking for an experienced DPA / HSSE Manager to lead safety, marine, vetting and HSSE performance across its bulk carrier fleet. The role reports directly to senior management and carries full Designated Person Ashore (DPA) responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the company’s Designated Person Ashore (DPA) with direct access to senior management.
• Oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure compliance with the ISM Code and DryBMS.
• Lead preparation and follow‑up for RightShip, Port State Control (PSC), flag, vetting and other inspections.
• Conduct vessel visits, marine and safety audits, and management inspections.
• Manage incident, near‑miss and deficiency investigations, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor regulatory developments, identify fleet risks and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Technical, Operations and Crew departments on safety and quality matters.
• Provide concise HSSE, safety and vetting reports and recommendations to management.

Required profile

• Seagoing experience, preferably as a senior deck officer on bulk carriers.
• Master Mariner qualification preferred.
• Shore‑based experience in DPA, marine, HSSE and vetting functions.
• Strong knowledge of ISM, SMS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC and ISPS.
• Excellent English and willingness to travel for vessel attendances.
