Data and AI Architect

About the role

Ethniki Asfalistiki is looking for a Data and AI Architect to design, develop and maintain scalable, secure data and AI architectures that support its data strategy and AI initiatives. The role works closely with data engineers, AI engineers, governance teams and business stakeholders to ensure the enterprise data platform aligns with business needs and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise‑wide data and AI architectures, including conceptual, business and technical data models.
• Define and enforce architectural standards across data lake, lakehouse and analytical platforms.
• Guide the evolution of cloud data and AI platforms on Azure (e.g., Azure Databricks, Fabric, Azure AI Foundry) ensuring secure, scalable environments.
• Apply Data Fabric principles to enable seamless data integration, access and orchestration across systems.
• Oversee data ingestion, ETL/ELT, API and streaming integrations to guarantee reliable data flows.
• Enable AI and MLOps lifecycles by aligning architecture with model development, deployment and monitoring using Azure ML and related AI services.
• Maintain comprehensive data architecture documentation, metadata, data dictionaries and data lineage.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data and AI solutions, preferably in a cloud‑first environment.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security and scalability requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and translate business needs into technical designs.
