Accountant

About the role

Interamerican, a member of the Achmea Group, is looking for a motivated Accountant to support its accounting function. You will work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, handling reconciliations, journal entries and month‑end/year‑end close activities while progressively taking on more independent responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounting journals and entry templates with accurate supporting evidence.
• Perform balance‑sheet and account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding items.
• Maintain accounting files, schedules and documentation.
• Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating increasing independence and accountability.
• Contribute to process improvements and standardisation of accounting procedures.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Good understanding of IFRS and corporate taxation.
• 4‑6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the insurance sector.
• Strong English language skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP (or similar accounting software).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
