Senior Data Scientist – Media Product Development

About the role

Circana is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its Media Data Scientist Team. The role focuses on product development, building end‑to‑end modeling platforms, and delivering data‑driven insights for leading retailers and manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and apply best‑in‑class statistical algorithms and methodologies to solve business problems.
• Build and maintain modeling engines for Circana analytics platforms using Python, SQL, Spark and related tools.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, experiment design, and statistical methodology development.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Technology, Product, Commercial) to create analytical solutions at scale.
• Engage directly with clients and top advertising platforms to gather requirements and present results.
• Document and communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering technical growth.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field (Masters or PhD preferred).
• At least 6 years of professional experience developing in Python or R.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization.
• Experience working with large, heterogeneous databases and assembling them for analysis.
