Cloud Operations / Systems Engineer

About the role

Neurosoft is seeking a Cloud Operations / Systems Engineer to be the primary technical presence on‑site at a client’s premises in Athens. The role involves day‑to‑day administration, monitoring and maintenance of Windows‑based and virtualised infrastructure, ensuring service continuity and supporting the client’s IT team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily operational checks and first‑level investigation of infrastructure alerts.
• Provide hands‑on support for Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure and VMware vSphere environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot servers, virtual machines, storage, backup and network components.
• Execute approved changes, patching, configuration updates and routine maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate and escalate complex incidents to specialised L2/L3 or vendor teams.
• Support Incident, Problem and Change Management processes and maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist with hardware failure resolution and liaise with vendors as required.
• Participate in scheduled upgrades, DR exercises, fail‑over/fail‑back tests and on‑call duties outside normal business hours.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory/DNS.
• Working experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere.
• Understanding of backup, storage and virtualization concepts.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring and ticketing/service‑management platforms.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills in Greek and English.
• Ability to coordinate with L2/L3 specialists and third‑party vendors.
• Preferred certifications in Microsoft, VMware or Azure and familiarity with ITIL processes.
