Team Leader – Production Shift

About the role

Lead and motivate the team throughout the shift, covering all aspects of normal line operation. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, drive quality, production, spoilage control, planning, changeovers, autonomous maintenance and problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the team complies with all safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Maintain product quality, react to process changes and follow up on non‑conformance.
• Focus on production output during the shift and prevent spoilage, implementing corrective actions when required.
• Set and maintain a high standard of housekeeping and lead continuous improvement activities.
• Communicate across the department, complete log books and liaise with other shift Team Leaders.
• Control autonomous maintenance activities and lead changeovers.
• Ensure effective shift handovers are conducted by all team members.
• Participate in team development and utilize available resources efficiently.
• Review and sign‑off logbooks, assist with breakdown analysis and corrective‑action reports.
• Support planning and spoilage‑reduction initiatives.
• Drive problem‑solving efforts and promote a culture of safety.
• Provide cover for the Manager during holidays and other absences.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety, including use of STOP cards and participation in audits.
• Awareness of business needs and ability to promote them.
• Strong team‑working attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• High personal standards for housekeeping and audit performance.
• Ability to act as manager cover when required.
