Software Engineer – Platform (Java)

About the role

Etraveli Group is seeking an experienced Back‑end Engineer to join its Platform Java team in Athens. You will help design and extend the core booking engine that powers flight sales for major global platforms and the company’s own travel brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate high‑performance Java components used across the booking platform.
• Maintain and improve build pipelines with Gradle and Jenkins, ensuring smooth daily releases.
• Write automated unit and integration tests (JUnit5/TestNG, Mockito) and contribute to code reviews.
• Collaborate with product developers, QA engineers and other stakeholders in an international, agile environment.
• Document technical decisions and monitor system health using Grafana, Prometheus and OpenSearch.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience on the Java stack.
• Proven experience in a large‑scale, high‑volume production environment.
• Strong understanding of OOP, multi‑tier architecture, design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Ability to write clean, readable and performant code.
• Positive mindset and motivation to tackle challenging projects.
