Social Worker

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Social Worker to support migrants and refugees in Vagiochori, Greece. Reporting to the National Project Officer and Project Assistant, the incumbent will help implement, monitor and report on project activities that promote humane and orderly migration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the project coordinator in planning and executing social assistance activities.
• Provide direct support and counseling to migrants and refugees.
• Collect, record and report data on beneficiaries and project outcomes.
• Coordinate with multi‑cultural teams and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with IOM policies and local regulations.

Required profile

• University degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably with migrants or refugees.
• Valid license to practice social work; membership in the Association of Greek Social Workers is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Greek (oral and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard computer applications (MS Office).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
