Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer (Multiskilled)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer to support our growing customer sites. The role blends hands‑on electro‑mechanical work, client‑facing interaction, travel, and Six Sigma methodology to ensure hardware reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Execute hardware maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits at Ocado and remote customer locations.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures on‑site and drive remediation efforts.
• Create technical documentation and training materials.
• Design, build, and deploy support tools, fixtures, and service kits for field maintenance.
• Document service history, report hardware quality trends, and apply Six Sigma principles.
• Support automation deployment projects involving mobile robots, software, and auxiliary hardware.
• Develop and improve standard operating procedures.
• Ensure customers become enthusiastic advocates of our products.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with medium‑complexity electro‑mechanical devices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in remote environments.
• Familiarity with industrial robotics, automotive or computer repair.
• Experience with work‑management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
• Proficiency with hand tools (soldering equipment, multimeters, torque devices).
• Basic electrical design knowledge (cable harnesses, wiring diagrams, grounding) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Linux command‑line interfaces.
• Organized, 5S‑oriented, motivated to travel and fluent in English.
