Senior Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to design, build and operate scalable data platforms for a global payments and financial‑services leader. You will enable campaign measurement, customer insights, reporting and AI/ML initiatives while collaborating with product, engineering, data science and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define business problems and translate them into data‑science solutions.
• Collect, clean and analyse large, messy datasets from multiple sources.
• Develop, optimise and maintain supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement‑learning pipelines.
• Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Partner with product and engineering to deliver secure, reliable, high‑quality solutions at enterprise scale.

Required profile

• STEM Bachelor’s degree; Master’s in Statistics, Data Science or related field is a strong plus.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data‑science or machine‑learning roles.
• Strong algorithmic thinking and ability to write clean, efficient Python code.
• Solid understanding of probability, statistical theory and hypothesis testing.
• Business acumen to translate requirements into practical models.

Required skills

• Python programming
• SQL (basic knowledge)
• Pandas or Polars for data manipulation and exploration
• Scikit‑learn for classical machine‑learning workflows
• Experience with supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning / optimisation
• Statistical modelling and data analysis (EDA, plotting)
