R&D Project Engineer

About the role

The R&D Project Engineer will support the development of new and improved products by researching competitor offerings, evaluating raw materials, and driving prototype creation. This role bridges product design, testing, and production launch, ensuring technical documentation and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Research, analyze and benchmark competitor products to inform new product concepts.
• Source and evaluate raw materials, collaborating with existing suppliers and identifying new sourcing opportunities.
• Conduct laboratory tests and experiments, document results, and support product redesign and validation.
• Create and update technical drawings for components using 3D CAD tools.
• Coordinate product transfer activities for mass‑production launch, preparing documentation, materials and quality standards.
• Build and assemble prototypes, samples and test units for R&D activities.
• Provide administrative support to the R&D department, including tracking shipments and maintaining records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in research & development, product development, manufacturing or a similar engineering role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Good organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA or PTC Creo.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
