Project Buyer – Procurement & Supplier Management

About the role

Alstom is looking for a full‑time Project Buyer to join its Thessaloniki team. You will apply your procurement expertise to support rail projects, working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the right suppliers are selected and contracts are negotiated effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and launch Requests for Quotation (RFQ) with suppliers.
• Lead project negotiations and monitor quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) performance.
• Ensure work‑package commitments are respected and prepare business awards.
• Promote Alstom’s Code of Ethics and maintain high ethical standards.
• Coordinate projects with regional procurement, platform teams, supplier quality, legal, finance and other stakeholders.
• Support the development and implementation of commodity strategies.
• Manage supplier performance and contribute to supplier development initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
• 0‑5 years of experience or understanding of sourcing and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of supplier relationship management and experience working in a matrix environment.
• Strong communication skills, collaborative team spirit, and ability to challenge results.
• Structured, rigorous approach with an international mindset.
