Procurement Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our maritime operations team. The role is responsible for handling vessel requisitions, managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and parts to ships operating worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Process requisitions from vessels and technical/marine superintendents, initiating procurement to guarantee delivery onboard.
• Verify completeness of vessel requisition information before proceeding.
• Collect supplier offers, prepare comparative matrices and submit them for review according to the company’s Chart of Authorities.
• Issue job orders, obtain required approvals and place final orders.
• Coordinate with the Forwarding Officer to dispatch parts/orders to vessels.
• Inform the Master of deliveries and confirm receipt after the vessel departs the port.
• Maintain the computerized purchasing program and update records.
• Report purchasing issues and outstanding matters to the Procurement and Commercial Manager.
• Execute additional tasks or projects assigned by the Procurement and Commercial Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Experience in a procurement department of a shipping company is an advantage.
• Experience with forwarding services is a plus.
• Excellent command of English.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with purchasing software and MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with KAPA E‑PMS, DANAOS or similar purchasing platforms.
