Procurement Category Manager – Services & Operations

About the role

Procurement Category Manager – Services & Operations will manage a portfolio of indirect procurement categories supporting Pharmathen’s operations in Athens and Sapes. The role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing suppliers across spend categories such as health & safety, selected CAPEX‑related activities, professional services, R&D and IT, ensuring operational continuity, cost competitiveness, supplier performance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies and category plans based on business needs, market intelligence and total cost of ownership.
• Lead RFx processes for goods and professional services, identify savings opportunities and negotiate framework agreements, service contracts and performance KPIs.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, drive corrective actions and mitigate supply risks.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, IT, Finance and EHS to translate requirements into procurement solutions and ensure timely delivery of OPEX and selected CAPEX needs.
• Drive cost transparency, deliver savings, cost avoidance and working‑capital improvements while supporting budgeting and forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, supply chain, engineering or a related field (post‑graduate degree a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, policies and RFx tools.
• Expertise in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
