Mobile Developer (Android / Java / Kotlin)

About the role

Blastup is a boutique development agency creating digital experiences that shape how people interact with technology. We are looking for a Mobile Developer who is passionate about building smooth, reliable, and intuitive Android applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise native Android applications using Java and the Android SDK.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs, external SDKs and backend systems.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Ensure code quality through testing, documentation and code reviews.
• Debug and resolve performance issues to guarantee stable app operation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android best practices and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Android SDK.
• Solid understanding of Android lifecycle, UI components and threading models.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, JSON and networking libraries such as Retrofit, Volley or OkHttp.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and testable code.
• Problem‑solving mindset with attention to performance and usability.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Kotlin (or willingness to learn).
• Firebase, push notifications and in‑app billing.
• Modern architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Experience publishing apps to the Google Play Store.
• Basic understanding of iOS development or cross‑platform SDKs.
