Medical Director – Rheumatology (Sponsor Dedicated)

About the role

The Associate Medical Director / Medical Director will act as the primary medical and scientific advisor for IQVIA’s rheumatology sponsor‑dedicated projects. You will support trial execution, provide therapeutic expertise, and contribute to business development activities across global and regional studies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global or Regional Medical Advisor on assigned clinical trials, guiding investigators and project teams.
• Review protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms, and provide clarification on inclusion/exclusion criteria and patient safety.
• Conduct medical monitoring activities, including adverse event review, serious adverse event case assessment, and support pharmacovigilance analyses.
• Deliver therapeutic area training to clinical teams and present at investigator meetings, kick‑off sessions, and client briefings.
• Contribute to proposal development, budgeting for medical monitoring, and strategic business development presentations.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and author related scientific publications.
• Travel periodically on regional and international assignments.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Extensive experience in clinical trial medical monitoring, preferably in rheumatology.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacovigilance processes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work 24/7 for urgent protocol‑related queries, respecting local labor laws.
