Laboratory Assistant Officer – Biological Analysis

About the role

Qualimetrix S.A., a contract research organization serving the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant Officer to join its Athens facility. The role supports daily laboratory operations, testing, and environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, including disinfection, sterilization and decontamination procedures.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, periodic calibration and qualification.
• Perform physicochemical testing of solutions (pH, surface tension) and record raw data promptly.
• Prepare culture media and conduct growth‑promotion testing.
• Carry out routine environmental monitoring such as air sampling, exposure plates and contact plates.
• Monitor the purified water system and conduct microbiological analyses.
• Notify the department supervisor of any instrument failures or malfunctions.
• Provide assistance to senior officers in laboratory operations and testing.

Required profile

• Minimum one year experience in a microbiological laboratory, preferably under GMP conditions.
• Post‑secondary degree (TEI/I.E.K.) in Biology, Chemistry, Food Technology or a related field.
• Good command of English (CEFR B2) and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Training in GMP principles is a plus.
