Journalist (Thessalia)

About the role

Antenna Group, a media and entertainment organisation active across television, pay TV, OTT, radio, cinema, digital, music, publishing and education, is looking for a motivated and dynamic journalist to join its team in Thessalia (Larissa). The successful candidate will research, investigate and produce news and current affairs content for television and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Generate ideas for stories and features and follow leads from news agencies, the police, the public, press conferences and other sources
• Pitch ideas to chief editors
• Research, verify and collate evidence and information using sources such as the internet and archives
• Identify and manage technical crews for location shoots, including sound operators and camera crew, and give directorial advice on what to film
• Record material with portable digital video cameras and other equipment, and produce complete broadcast packages
• Present material on air for pre-recorded and live pieces
• Identify and brief interviewees, prepare questions and conduct live and recorded interviews
• Work with the editor to assemble the finished programme and maintain local contacts while taking on a public relations role
• Comply with media law and industry codes of conduct

Required profile

• University degree in journalism or a related field
• Previous experience in a similar position
• Fluent English; knowledge of a second foreign language is desirable
• High ethical standards, crisis management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet daily deadlines
