IT&T Field Engineer - Rodos Airport

About the role

Fraport Greece operates, manages and upgrades 14 regional airports in Greece. It is looking for an IT&T Field Engineer to work at its premises at Rodos (RHO) Airport. The post holder installs, monitors and maintains the airport's IT&T systems and networks, fixes hardware and software problems on site and remotely, carries out cabling and patching, performs routine checks on machinery and keeps the equipment inventory up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure hardware, operating systems and applications on site.
• Maintain and monitor the airport's IT&T systems and networks.
• Diagnose and resolve first-level hardware and/or software issues.
• Supervise external providers at the IT&T Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and Secondary Distribution Frames (SDFs).
• Receive, safekeep and record IT&T hardware assets on the local inventory.
• Identify end users' needs proactively during daily walk-throughs.
• Take part in ad hoc projects in line with departmental and company goals.
• Stay up to date with the latest technological trends for equipment installation.
• Work in shifts.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems or Electronics Engineering or similar.
• At least three years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in aviation.
• Very good spoken and written Greek and English.
• Available to work in shifts and to fulfil military obligations, if applicable.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of telecommunications cabling infrastructure, especially copper Category 5, 5e, 6, 6a and 7.
• Excellent knowledge of hardware and software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Network and/or system certifications are an asset.
• Analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
