Interim Accounting & Tax Manager (12-month contract)

About the role

FoodChain ID is looking for an Interim Accounting & Tax Manager to support its Greek operations for a 12‑month contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting and Tax EMEA in Italy and to the local Business Manager, the role will oversee local accounting, tax filings and assist the General Manager in a fast‑growing environment. The position will also provide occasional support to the Italy organic certification business unit.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly close in NetSuite, including GL reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, AR/AP details, bank statements, dividend payments and cash transfers across the Group.
• Coordinate tax matters with local advisors and the US Tax Manager, covering corporate income tax, DTA/DTL, VAT, WHT and R&D deduction opportunities.
• Manage preparation of monthly accruals and supporting documentation.
• Support Global Finance in implementing new accounting principles, tools and process automation.
• Lead the local statutory audit, ensure timely filing of statutory, VAT and income‑tax declarations and liaise with external advisors.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles and standards, preferably IFRS or US GAAP.
• Minimum two years of audit experience (Big 4 or tier‑2) and two years in a multinational service‑oriented group.
• CPA or local chartered accountant qualification is a plus.
• High proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Fluent English; conversational Italian is a bonus.
