Freight Forwarder

About the role

Modus Logistics Management is seeking a proactive Freight Forwarder to design and execute cost‑effective logistics solutions for containerized, air‑freight, road, and project cargo shipments. The role involves coordinating end‑to‑end transport operations while ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and price logistics plans that meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Coordinate and manage end‑to‑end shipment execution to guarantee timely delivery.
• Liaise with local offices, external partners, and customs agents to gather information and provide clear shipment instructions.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and maintain accurate documentation such as bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Monitor shipments throughout transit, proactively addressing delays, damages, or customs issues.
• Communicate shipment status and updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate transportation options and negotiate contracts with carriers, shipping lines, and service providers.
• Resolve any shipment‑related problems efficiently.
• Verify costs and charges for accurate invoicing.
• Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve logistics efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, shipping, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Preferably 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding or project logistics.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines.
