Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will provide on‑site technical support for generator sets and balance‑of‑plant equipment at client locations. You will ensure continuous, safe operation of plants while collaborating closely with the Service Area Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical problems on generator sets and related equipment.
• Perform minor and major overhauls according to OEM specifications.
• Prepare parts and labour estimates for repairs and assist with procurement.
• Maintain service vehicle tooling and parts inventory.
• Complete detailed field service reports and submit weekly expenses.
• Prepare material lists for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Act as the client’s reference point, ensuring clean and tidy plant conditions.

Required profile

• Technical degree (e.g., engineering or equivalent).
• 1–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with PLCs, inverters, transducers and analog/digital signals (4–20 mA, 0–10 V).
• Engine, mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Ability to use troubleshooting tools effectively.
• Flexibility, availability to travel and a valid driver’s license.
• Work authorization for the location of assignment.
