Field Service Engineer - Jenbacher Gas Engines

About the role

Clarke Energy Hellas, the authorised distributor and service provider for INNIO's Jenbacher gas engines in Greece, is looking for a Field Service Engineer in West Macedonia. The engineer performs on-site maintenance and repairs of Jenbacher gas engines and related equipment, with most of the time spent on scheduled maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting. The position reports to the Service Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure maximum availability of gas engines and balance of plant through fast response troubleshooting and fault rectification.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance to the required standard and respond to out-of-hours callouts promptly.
• Take, label and dispatch oil samples to the laboratory according to agreed standards.
• Select, order and use parts correctly, return unused parts to store and keep van stock in good condition.
• Maintain liaison with the Area Service Manager, customers and subcontractors, and document site visits and service reports.
• Build positive customer relationships, keep sites tidy and maintain tools in good working order.
• Supervise and train apprentices and new employees, and follow health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of service engineering experience.
• Electrical or mechanical qualification background; apprentice served engineer.
• Experience with industrial gas or diesel reciprocating engines; knowledge of Jenbacher gas engines is an advantage.
• Willing to travel extensively, work alone, and work long and unsociable hours away from home when required.
• Gas safe registered.

Required skills

• High level of engineering skill and understanding of Clarke Energy products and markets.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Basic IT skills and coaching skills.
