Director of Epidemiology (Real‑World Evidence)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Epidemiology to lead our Real‑World Evidence and epidemiology practice, advising pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on evidence‑generation strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific and methodological leadership for observational, non‑interventional and real‑world evidence studies, ensuring rigor and regulatory relevance.
• Lead client engagements from study design through analysis and communication, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, mentor epidemiologists, and drive quality, innovation and delivery excellence.
• Contribute to business development by shaping proposals, scoping studies, budgeting and presenting capabilities to clients.
• Advance the practice through thought leadership, publications, conference presentations and development of best‑practice methodologies.

Required profile

• Doctoral‑level degree in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Public Health or related quantitative health science (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 10 years of experience applying epidemiological methods in consulting, CRO, pharma, biotech or academia, with at least 6 years leading teams and complex projects.
• Proven track record of client‑facing consulting, business development and delivering high‑impact evidence for regulatory, reimbursement or health‑technology assessment decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder‑management skills, with ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Expertise in real‑world data sources such as claims, electronic health records, registries and national databases.
• Experience with external control arms, synthetic controls, natural history studies and health‑economics‑outcomes research deliverables.
