About the role

The Dean of the School of Computing is a senior academic leader responsible for shaping and implementing the School's strategic vision and ensuring academic excellence, innovation, programme consistency, and a high-quality student experience. The role provides academic and strategic leadership across programmes, aligning with industry needs, academic standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic planning and development of the School of Computing
• Academic quality assurance and programme consistency
• Curriculum development, innovation, and enhancement
• Academic team leadership, support, and development
• Student experience, success, and employability enhancement
• Development of partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and academic institutions
• Monitoring of programme performance and promotion of continuous improvement

Required profile

• Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Computing, IT, Software Engineering, AI, Cybersecurity or related discipline
• 8‑10 years of senior leadership experience in Higher Education, preferably within Computing
• Proven academic leadership and team management at Head, Associate Dean, Dean or Director level
• Strong track record in Computing education, curriculum development, academic quality and programme innovation
• Experience implementing strategic development and transformation initiatives in Higher Education
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of higher‑education trends, quality assurance, accreditation and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to lead, develop and inspire academic teams while promoting innovation and excellence
