About the role

The Dean of the School of Computing provides senior academic and strategic leadership, shaping the school’s vision, ensuring academic excellence, innovation, and a high‑quality student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic planning and development of the School of Computing.
• Academic quality assurance and programme consistency.
• Curriculum development, innovation, and enhancement.
• Academic team leadership, support, and development.
• Student experience, success, and employability enhancement.
• Development of partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and academic institutions.
• Monitoring of programme performance and promotion of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Hold a Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Have a minimum of 8‑10 years of senior leadership experience in Higher Education, preferably within Computing or a closely related academic discipline.
• Proven academic leadership and team management experience at Head, Associate Dean, Dean, or Director level.
• Strong track record in Computing education, curriculum development, academic quality, and programme innovation.
• Experience implementing strategic development and transformation initiatives within Higher Education.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of higher‑education trends, quality assurance, accreditation standards, regulatory frameworks, and academic development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead, develop, and inspire academic teams while promoting innovation and academic excellence.
