Data Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join the Group Internal Audit Data Analytics team at Piraeus Bank. In this role you will leverage data, analytics and technology to support audit activities, identify trends, anomalies and potential control weaknesses, and help develop innovative analytical solutions that strengthen audit effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data analytics, analytical tests and data‑driven assurance solutions across business, operational, risk and technology domains.
• Extract, transform, validate and analyse large, complex data sets from multiple source systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, visualisations and analytical reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for audit teams and stakeholders.
• Conduct exploratory and ad‑hoc investigations to detect trends, anomalies, outliers and potential control weaknesses.
• Collaborate with audit, business, technology and data‑owner teams to identify analytics opportunities and enhance continuous auditing and monitoring capabilities using AI, ML and advanced analytics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, audit analytics or related areas.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency with Python and/or R for data extraction, analysis and automation.
• Experience with Power BI for reporting, visualisation and dashboard development.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modelling and data‑warehousing concepts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, with a detail‑oriented analytical mindset.
• Experience in banking, financial services, internal audit or risk management is a plus.
