Assistant Auditor – Audit & Assurance

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Auditor to join our Audit and Assurance Department in Athens. You will support audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring work complies with BDO’s audit methodology and reporting critical issues to the supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures using firm‑standard audit technology tools and document work in assigned areas.
• Obtain and analyse client data to support audit conclusions.
• Keep the team manager informed of progress and any significant findings.
• Assess personal performance, incorporate feedback and undertake any reasonable tasks assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
• Previous experience in an accounting office or audit firm is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication in Greek and English.
• Motivation to pursue a professional qualification such as METKEL, ACCA or ICAEW.
• Self‑motivated, able to multitask and work within interdisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Basic competence in audit technology tools and BDO audit methodology.
