Accountant

About the role

Burraq Group is seeking a motivated Accountant to support its finance function in Athens. The role involves handling day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Greek standards, and contributing to month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record and post journal entries.
• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing.
• Prepare VAT returns and other tax‑related filings.
• Produce monthly financial reports and accounting statements.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Pylon Epsilon Net is a plus).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Greek Category C accounting books and standards.
