Principal Android Mobile Engineer – Wallet & Digital Identity

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Android Mobile Engineer to lead the design and development of our flagship Wallet and Digital Identity platform. The role sits in the Product Engineering organization and works closely with product, backend, security and DevOps teams to deliver secure, enterprise‑grade mobile experiences at international scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of advanced Android applications and SDKs using Kotlin and modern Android technologies.
• Define and enforce mobile engineering standards, scalability practices and security guidelines.
• Build high‑performance Wallet and Digital Identity solutions with a focus on reliability and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design end‑to‑end mobile workflows.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and clean‑architecture principles.
• Optimize application performance, maintainability, observability and scalability.
• Contribute to technical roadmap and long‑term platform evolution.
• Mentor senior and mid‑level engineers, conduct code reviews and ensure engineering quality.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development.
• Proven track record of building and scaling production‑grade Android applications in enterprise or product‑driven environments.
